I’m grad student in Philadelphia. Most of my time is spent completing the research needed to get my PhD. The rest of the time is spent avoiding that research.
I’ve got a B.S. in Applied Physics, with a concentration in Acoustics, and a minor in Applied & Computational Mathematics. I also graduated from high school. That was a long time ago.
I’ve worked as both a Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant as part of my graduate studies. During my undergrad I worked as a co-op at an automobile HVAC manufacturer. I worked mostly in the NVH Lab assisting with acoustic testing, but also spent time in the Prototype Lab and Thermal lab. I have also worked as a delivery driver and a bar back at a comedy club.
Other interests include reading, following the Detroit Lions, and listening to hip hop. The hip hop I listen to is also Detroit-centric. As far as reading goes, my favorite book of all time is Catch-22. Other notable books/authors include Vonnegut, Feynman, Poe, Steinbeck, Doyle, Nietzsche, Orwell, Verne, and Douglas Adams.
Besides physics, I enjoy keeping up with many fields of science, including biology, nanotechnology, computer science, neuroscience, and chemistry. I believe in defending climate science, vaccines and modern medicine, evolution, and science and knowing things in general.
